ITEMS DISCUSSED: The owner came to the counter with a state license application for a salon. She is
planning to operate a salon in her home so she can do hair for clients as well as friends and family. She said the
salon area was installed with the initial construction of the home in 2009. Property is zoned PD, Planned
Development, and contains a single-family residence. There are no conditions in PD Agt. prohibiting home
occupations. R-1 zoning allows home occupations as a permitted accessory use; there are no special
stipulations for salons (i.e. conditional use permit). I signed the state license application indicating the salon is
to be located in an existing building and no zoning permit is required. I also provided her a copy of the home
occupations ordinance.
