727 Bridle Ridge Rd - Email re: Stop Block Info. Permit #94020Jeffrey Wheeler From: Jason Mahowald [Jason @cedarstonehome.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2011 3:55 PM To: Jeffrey Wheeler FfiG,4,t— # 9ime20 Subject: 227 Bridal Ridge Rd, Eaaan Attachments: 015.JPG; kranz window.jpg; 006.JPG; 005.JPG; 004.JPG Hello Jeff, I spoke with the Pella rep. She said that the master bedroom window should have come with a stop block, and she will have the Pella service dept mail me a stop block to install in that window. It will probably be a week or so before it arrives. I will install it as soon as I have it. I also spoke with my lead carpenter who did the replacement of those windows. He said the sheeting under the window was soft and that is why the stucco was removed. He said he had the inspector out at that point. Under the stucco was a layer of felt paper then OSB sheeting, then a layer of Tyvek between the sheeting and the wall studs /framing lumber. This can be seen in the pictures. He said the Tyvek under the sheeting is what protected the framing members. The framing lumber was fine. A little tea stained but solid with no rot. As you can see from the second picture the framing lumber is intact. He said the inspector asked him to call the inspector back if there was water damage down at the rim joist. He said there was no water damage to the rim or other framing and that is why the inspectors were not called back while it was open. He did have these pictures of removal of the rotten sheeting and he sent them to me. However the pictures of the new sheeting are on film because his memory card was full, and I am still looking for these pictures. If and when I find them I will forward them to you. I assure you that after we removed the stucco if there would have been a need to have dug deeper we would have. Thanks, Jason Mahowald CedarStone Construction Inc.
