Fill out the registration blank; additional forms are available at the Park $ Recreation office. 3. Attach fee payment, check payable to the City of Eagan. 4. OUTDOOR SKATING RINKS During the 1980 -81 outdoor skating season,' warming house hours are as follows: Weekdays during school 4 -9 PM Vacation days $ Saturdays 10 AM -9 PM Sundays Noon - 9 PM Christmas & New Years Eve 10 AM -5 PM Christmas $ New Years Day's Noon -5 PM A blue light on each warming house roof, except Rahn Park, will enable skaters to determine from a distance whether a warm- ing house is open. Warming houses will be closed when the wind chill factor is -30 or colder or if 3 inches or more of snow has fallen and the rinks have not yet been cleared. All outdoor rinks with warming houses have been designated a classification based on past volume of usage. The classification system allows the Park & Recreation Department to prioritize maintenance following a snow fall and to set end of season closing dates. Class A rinks are: Rahn Park on Sandstone Drive next to Rahn School. Facilities include two hockey rinks and a pleasure rink. The east hockey rink is available for open hockey at all times. Well Site on Pilot Knob Rd., north of Cliff Rd. Facilities are one hockey rink and a pleasure rink. Class A rinks will open on December 20, 1980 weather permitting through February 15, 1981. After that date the warming houses will open at reduced hours on a day to day basis when the ice is skateable. New hours will be posted in the warming houses. Class B rinks are: Carnelian Park on Carnelian Ln. at Black - hawk Rd. Facilities include one hockey rink and a pleasure rink. Woodhaven Park on Gold Trail, southeast of Beau D'Rue Drive. Facilities include one hockey rink and a pleasure rink. Lexington Park in the McKee Addition, east of Lexington Ave., 11 mile north of Lone Oak Rd. Facilities include one hockey rink and d pleasure rink. Pilot Knob School on Lone Oak Rd.,.' mile west if Pilot Knob Rd. Facilities include one hockey rink and a pleasure rink. Class B rinks will open on December 20, • 1980 weather permitting until their February 15, 1981 closing date. Class C rinks are: Highview Park on skyline Drive, west of Pilot Knob Rd. Facilities include one hockey rink and a pleasure rink. High - view will ope on December 20, 1980 weather permitting. Cedar Pond Park on County Rd. 30 near Cedar School. The pond is the skating surface. Cedar Pond will open when the ice is of sufficient thickness to allow preparation of the skating surface. The closing date for Class C rinks is Febraury 8, 1981. Pleasure rinks without attended warming houses are located. at: Country Home Heights Park on Beam Lane, east of Pilot Knob Rd., north of Lone Oak Road. Evergreen Park on Lodgepole Drive, west of Pilot Knob Road, 14 mile south of 0 County Rd. 30. Bur Oak Pond on Chapel Lane, east of Highway 49. Neighborhood groups and Eagan organiza- tions are asked to call the Park $ Recreation office 454 -7802 if they wish to schedule a special event at one of the skating rink sites. COUPLES OPEN VOLLEYBALL Couples Open Volleyball resumes play follow- ing the holiday break on Wednesday, January 7, 1981 from 7 -9 PM at Pilot Knob Elementary School. The school is located on Lone Oak Road, west of Pilot Knob Road. No fee is charged and pre - registration is not required of couples who wish to join the activity for the first time. WOMEN'S OPEN VOLLEYBALL Women's Open Volleyball resumes following the holidays on Tuesday, January 6, 1981 from 7 -9 PM at Northview Elementary Schilii. The school is located on County Rd. 30, mile east of Lexington Avenue. Pre- registration is not required and no fee is charged for this activity. TINY TOTS RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Tiny Tots is a program of recreational activities for children ages 3, 4 and 5. Planned activities include games, singing, Aes, simple crafts and creative play. size is limited. WHERE: Rahn Park Building, on Sandstone Dr., west of Rahn School. LOS OI }EUIENCE Beginner and novice level dog obedience classes are offered this winter. Dogs must be 9 months old or older. Proof of rabies vaccination must be brought to the first class session. The handler may be an adult or child, however the same individual must attend all class sessions. The handler will need a choker chain, 2 inches longer than the girth of the dogs neck, and a 6 foot leather leash. WHERE: Basement of Police Department Bldg. Trail entrance and parking lot are located west of Lexington Ave., h mile north of County Rd. 30 TOURS The following tours, theatre trips and luncheons have been arranged in cooperation with the cities of Apple Valley and Rosemount Park and Recreation Departments. CEDARHURST MANSION IN COTTAGE GROVE Built in the 1860's, Cedarhurst is a 26 room mansion which is included in the National Registry of historical sites. Trip includes tour of the mansion, lunch, pipe organ concert and the bus. All women who live in or work full time in the cities of Eagan, Mendota and Mendota Heights who are of the age category and who are interested in playing softball are invited to attend. EAGAN MEN'S RECREATIONAL SOFTBALL LEAGUE The Eagan Men's Recreational Softball League provides league play beginning in early May. Industrial and recreational divisions are scheduled. Managers of teams whose players live in or work full time in the City of Eagan or individual players who live in Eagan are asked to call the Park and Recreation office 454 -7802 prior to March 15 in order to participate in the league.
