We have designed the new framing in accordance with the Minnesota State Building Code. Our work only includes designing the new members as shown at the above referenced project and is based on drawings provided by you and from our conversations. Attached are sheets S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and S6 with annotated framing notes showing the new members and connections. All framing shall be shored and temporarily braced as required by the contractor and all nailing shall be in accordance with IRC Table R602.3(1), as a minimum. Lumber shall be #2 SPF and treated lumber shall be #2 S. Pine. The 18" deep garage door headers and foundations were designed by others. Our calculations assume all lumber is of good quality and does not have large splits and checks and shall be visually inspected by the contractor at the time of construction. All fasteners in contact with treated lumber shall be G185 hot dipped galvanized or equal and rebar shall be grade 60. Concrete used for footings (4" slump) and small aggregate masonry grout (8" —10" slump) shall have a 28 day compressive strength of 3000 psi. When installed as indicated above, the new braced wall panel framing shown on the attached sheets shall support the loads as required in accordance with the Minnesota State Building Code.
