HiSTOPIC 11012 FARM
Holz Farm was acquired in 1995 by the City of Eagan in order to preserve the rich
farming history of the area. This beautiful setting is located in the southeast corner of
the City alongside Holz Lake. Currently, about 8 acres are owned by the City to
utilize for educational, historical and entertaining activities. In 1996, efforts began to
restore the house, barn and outbuildings to the 1940's era. Due to the well -worn
condition of the site, there is still a long way to go.
The "Friends of the Farm" group has been formed to expedite progress with fund-
raising, restoration and programming This non -profit group will be the active partner
with the City in regards to Holz Farm. Membership information is available by
contacting Eagan Parks and Recreation at 651 - 681 -4660 (TDD 651 - 454 - 8535).
Watch for details on upcoming activities at Holz Farm. The calendar for spring

to be undertaken include: filling ruts in thedriveway, raking the lawn, light
carpentry work, scraping, painting, clearing brush, concrete work and other
delightful surprises. Clean -up day will be held rain or shine. You need not be a
member of Friends of the Farm to take part in this or any other volunteer
opportunity at the Farm. You need not call anyone to say you are coming, we
would hope that anyone who loves the Farm will lend a hand.

May 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Choose from a great selection of perennials,

YOU AND YOUR HEALTHY
TREES
Because trees typically grow to be very large, we
sometimes think they are invincible and can't be
harmed. But if there's one think the weather over the
past couple of years has taught us, it's that trees
actually are very vulnerable. Just as with people, trees
that are in very good health can overcome many
nuisance types of problems; conversely sick or stressed
trees can sometimes be killed by these same problems.
The best way to minimize tree problems is to keep
your trees healthy.
This seminar will provide proactive and reactive
activities that you can do to keep your trees in tiptop
shape. Topics will include a quick look at tree biology,
tree selection for our area, proper tree planting, tree
pruning, and follow -up maintenance activities. In
general, City forestry staff will provide information on
all aspects of tree care. Feel free to come with
questions of your own.
Our City of Eagan forestry staff will conduct this
learning session. You will come away with information
that will benefit you at home. Sign up with a neighbor
and discover how beautiful your neighborhood can be.

Eagan Civic Arena
Stick handling is the skill that differentiates hockey
players. The players that can make moves, dekes and plays
are the ones who can move to the next level.
The Stick handling school teaches all stick handling
fundamentals as well as all of the new dekes, fakes and moves
that a player needs to practice on and off the ice to become a
proficient puck handler. We will teach everybody the basics
