NOTICE of SURCHARGE to UTILITY BILL
As you were informed in previous notices, the City of Eagan is conducting a city -wide
internal residential and commercial property inspection program aimed at reducing
the amount of stormwater and groundwater entering into the metropolitan sanitary
sewer system.. The problem is called Inflow and Infiltration (I&1).
On September 2 and October 17, 2011 you have been sent formal notices regarding
this mandatory inspection and /or required corrective work order to avoid incurring
substantial surcharges to your Utility Bill. Our records indicate that you have either
not yet responded to these notices or complied with their related repair
requirements
The inspections and subsequent corrective repairs are necessary to find and eliminate
the sources of these excessive flows as mandated to Eagan by the Metropolitan
Council Environmental Services (MC:ES).
Inspections and Repairs Are Mandatory
FAILURE TO COMPLY results in substantial fees being added to your Utility Bill
until the property is brought into compliance with City Codes:
$150 /month for Single Family, Duplex, Townhome properties, or
$500 /month for all other properties.
You are receiving this letter to inform you that the surcharge has now been added to
your Utility Billing account and will continue for each succeeding month until the
property is determined to be in compliance with the l&I program requirements..

of each month and every month since asking you to contact us. You have now accrued
2 months of surcharges totaling $300,00. These fees will continue to accrue to your
Utility Account until the property is determined to be in compliance with the I &l
program requirements.
The inspections and subsequent corrective repairs are necessary to find and eliminate
the sources of these excessive flows as mandated to Eagan by the Metropolitan
Council Environmental Services (MCES)
Inspections and Repairs Are Mandatory
