IllpEagan's Skaters and Bikers Each Have a Home
1
Skaters and trick bikers have been chased out of parks, parking lots, and everywhere they may conflict with people
who do not appreciate their sport. The City of Eagan heard input from skaters and bikers and studied skate parks and
bike jump parks. These parks were approved, and now both parks are up and running!
The Eagan Skate Park, which expanded from its pilot project in 2001, is located at Lexington - Diffley Athletic
Fields near the water tower. It features Tier I equipment, which means none of the ramps are over 3'- perfect for the
beginner or recreational skateboarder.
The Bike Park is located at Pilot Knob Park. It features dirt jumps for BMX -style bikes to mimic the conditions
found in BMX -style tracks. The jumps are typically between 2' and 3' tall.
It is the skaters and bikers who will determine the success of these parks. Adhering to and helping enforce the rules
will guarantee that the parks stay open for years to come. Both parks are open from dawn until dusk every day, and best
of all, they're FREE!
Rules for the Skate Park
1) Pads and other protective gear recommended.
2) The City is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
3) No food, beverage, or gum on the skate pad.
4) No graffiti, profanity, vandalism, or littering.
5) No alcohol, tobacco of any kind, or illegal drug use.
6) No bikes.
7) No motorized vehicles.
8) Observers or others not skating are to stay off the skate pad.
9) Age limit, 8 years and up.
10)Do not crowd ramps.

ISI Testing Program
The Ice Skating Institute (ISI) is
a complete graded program of lessons
with a high standard for correctness.
The ISI Testing Program makes every
effort for skaters to earn badges. We
will test only those skaters ready to
pass, so as to make it a positive
environment for learning. Keep in
mind that it is not uncommon for a
skater to repeat a level before
mastering all the skills required.
Skates and Skating Atti
Staff recommends boots of
leather rather than vinyl or molded
plastics. Blades should be properly
sharpened. Double runners are not
accepted. Excellent rental skates are
available at the Eagan Civic Arena for
a $2 charge when used during skating
lessons.
Dress skater in layers that are
warm, comfortable and allow freedom
of movement while skating. Mittens
or gloves are required for skaters ages
5 and under and are recommended for
all others. HELMETS ARE
