Finance Committee Business ( \ " ��� `- moo- r• MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF 43 E!G N PARK COMMITTEE EA: AN, ICH E5OTA January 16, 1975 A regular meeting of the Eagan Park Committee was held on January 16, 1975 at 6:30 p.m. at the City,Hall. Those present were Dale Everson, Barbara Schmidt, Myrel Lundsten, Neil Coates, Fay Cooper, Roger Martin and Carolyn Thurston; those absent were Charles Hall, David Erb and Gerber Hsttcberg; also present were Ted Wachter, Greg Franzen, Jim McGuffy and Paul Hauge. Upon notion by Coates, seconded Cooper; all members voting yes, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved. COUNCIL MEETING REPORT. Ted Wachter reported on the last Council sheeting and explained that a snowblower had been purchased for clearing the ice rinks. Also terms of three members of the Park Committee have expired including Barbara Schmidt, Roger Martin and David Erb. 1) Uri LIB , A copy of the Preliminary Check List of Plats on Blackhawk Lake written by Harriet Johnson was given to the Park Committee and acknowledged by the Chairman. TRAIL PLANNING MEETING. A Trail Planning meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 1975 at 7 :00 p.m. Mr, Bill Erickson from Timbershores was present and indicated an interest in assisting in this project. PILOT KNOB SCHOOL OPEN SPORTS. It was noted that open tennis will be played at Pilot Knob School on Friday nights and volleyball for couples on Wednesday nights. SHIELDS P& K ACQUISITION, Paul Hauge explained the progress concerning the acquisition of the Shields property.. He also indicated that proposed amendments of the HUD contract were expected to be received from HUD shortly. ICE RINK SUPERVISION & MAINTENANCE, Greg Franzen discussed supervision problems and also gave a maintenance report concerning the ice rinks. He indicated a great improvemmnt in snow remavai with the new blower. The Rare* : orst tank truck had technical problems and had to be returned. He further reported on the progress from 1 ice rink five years ago to 17 rinks in 1974 -75. Members of the CAA were present and requested that maintenance and construction of ice be improved to permit regular scheduling of hockey games. BJRNSVILLE SCHOOL. COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR. Mrs. Buckingham cf the Burnsville School District Community Services Coordinator, appeared and discussed adult education including recreational activit*es in schools in District E191. She suggested a joint powers agreement with the City of Eagan to usa .facilities for activities and recreation in Eagan. 1374 BUDGET. The Committee reviewed the 1975 budget and indicated that maintenance and repairs were most difficult to budget and in these areas there were substantial excessive expenditures in 1974. It was requested that a copy of the 1975 budget be distributed with the January Park Committee minutes. SCHOOL PARKING VIOLATIONS. It was further requested that contacts he nsde with the Eagan Police Department to discuss parking violators on school nal park property in the City of Eagan.
