Adjournment Eagan City Hall SPECIAL LIEETING OF EAGAN PARK COMM'MIITTEE June 26, 1975 Members Absent: Roger Martin, Faye Cooper, Gerber Hatteberg Also Present: Ted Wachter, Eldon Ilugelon, Bob Gottsacker PARK CONTRACT : BLACKHAUK: The proposal is for a 700' asphalt walkway and playground. EVERGREEN PARE: Suggested plans include fill and an overlay of the current tennis court, installation of new tennis posts, construed +.` of an all purpose court adjacent to tennis court, addition of 4' of topsoil and an alternate bid which to replace the existing tennis tennis fence. The backstop for the ballfield will be handled outside the contract. PILOT KNOB: The current proposal is to raise the water level 2' as recommended by Dr. Jones and to supply water for the pond from the Timberline Pump House. A motion was made by Barb Schmidt and seconded by Myrel Lundsten that an additional $500 be spent for fir. Gottsacker, consulting engineer, to check the rate of absoY:pta ors of water in pond excluding the normal 10 of evaporation. All nemberr voted in favor. The barb wire and boards in the area were cleared away by members of the park department. The proposal for Pilot Feenb Park remains the same as discussed in previous meetings. OAK CHASE: The proposal is to build a double color coated lerinic court fenced with two gates. It was suggested that the fence poets could be buried in concrete which would provide a constant ground to N.S.P. wires which run parallel to the tennis fence. Cost of Oak Chase Park will be paid for by Park Dedication funds. RAITN UAW,: Carolyn Thurston moved and Grant Lundberg seconded a motion that the addition to the Rahn wall be included in the curreni; contract. RAHN AND WOODHAVEN BALLFIELDS: The accumulation of water and soggy field conditions were discussed in both parks. Myrel Lundste moved and Barb Schmidt seconded a motion that we authorize the stakin. of Rahn and Woodhaven fields to determine if further work should be done to remedy the problem. A brief discussion of lighting ball- fields was held. RAHN PARK BUILDING: Mr. Lundberg and Pierce appeared to present 3 alternate schemes of the proposed park building. After discussion of all three alternatives, it was decided that scheme 3 should be further developed. An alternate bid in the contract would include the cost of air conditioning. Dale will get the site plan from Bob Rosene to give to Pierce - Lundberg. 6/26/75 Park Minutes Dale Everson will represent the Eagan Perk Committee at the July 4th Celebration and will make a brief speech.
