Sanitary Sewer System — I/I CORRECTION WORK ORDER
Dakota County Visitor Center
860 Cliff Road
Eagan MN 55123
If you fail to make the required repairs or schedule its work to
be done by the City within the required 60 days, a SURCHARGE
of $500 PER MONTH WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR UTILITY BILL
(Until the repairs are satisfactorily completed)
March 25, 2012
Thank you for your recent cooperation and participation in completing the
inspection of your Sewer Service to identify sources of clearwater flow into the
sanitary sewer system. As a result of that inspection, certain aspects of your sewer
service were found to be out of compliance with Section 3.40 of the City Code
regarding Inflow & Infiltration (1 /1). (Go to www.cityofeagan.com /inflow for Code)
The following issues must be corrected or repaired to comply with City Codes:
An exterior sanitary clean out north of the parking lot needs to have a water tight
cover installed to eliminate rain water.
Per the City Code, it is now your responsibility to complete these corrective
improvements within 60 days of the date of this letter.
If interested and so requested, the City will finance your costs over a period of up to
5 years at 4% interest by spreading it as a special assessment for collection with your
property taxes. You will be required to complete an application to allow this special
assessment to be placed on your tax roll. NOTE: Permit fees are not considered as
part of the repair cost and are not eligible for reimbursement or financing options.
ALL REPAIRS REQUIRE CITY PERMITS.
If the repair work involves your external sewer service, you will need to obtain a
Sewer Permit. If the repair work involves your sump pump, foundation drain or
other internal plumbing system, you will need a Plumbing Permit. Some situations
may require both permits. We are enclosing a list of pre - approved sewer pipe
contractors for your convenience. While you are not obligated to use a Sewer
contractor from this list, all contractors must be pre- approved before they can pull a
permit. A much larger list of Licensed Plumbers is available on the City's web site at:
www.citvofeagan.com /inflow
We recognize that this mandatory program is an unexpected inconvenience and
expense to you. We want to minimize its impact and help you through this process.
