FallP RKS & RECRE BALL ` `OG STAR GAZING Thursday, September 24, 1987 7:30 - 10:00 p.m. Enjoy a fall evening of star gazing with David Mandt, a member of the Minnesota Astronomical Society. You will see firsthand through a telescope, late summer and early fall constellations, the moon, nebulars, galaxies, star clusters and possibly a glimpse of Saturn and Jupiter. Slides of constellations, Saturn and Jupiter will also be shown. This special event will be held at Trapp Farm Park, 841 Wilderness Run Road. Participants are asked to arrive between 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. No fee is charged, however, please call or mail in your registration by September 20, 1987. ICE CREAM SURPRISE Friday, November 27, 1987 An activity designed especially for children between the ages of three and twelve. Participants will enjoy making their own ice cream sundaes as well as an extra special surprise. It's guaranteed to be fun fqr all involved. The trail is open to all ages with no fee or registration required; the trail begins near the tennis courts and parking lot at Woodhaven Park on Gold Trail, two blocks east of Beau D'Rue Drive. **Volunteers are needed to staff the Spook Trail. Recreation leaders are assigned to supervise the activities at skating rinks throughout the City. MEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUES The Parks and Department directs ball leagues during Recreation men's basket - the winter. Three Man League The 3 man league plays on Wednesday evenings in elementary schools in the city. Five Man League Parks & Recreation directs men's basketball leagues which play on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Rosemount Middle School. Parent Or Participant Signature 9 BROOMBALL The Eagan Men's Broomball League plays on Monday evenings, begin- ning in late December. Managers of new teams are asked to call Parks and Recreation at 454-8100 by November 16 to receive the information required for entering a team into the league. New this year will be a Friday evening co-rec broomball league. On college campuses throughout the midwest, co-ed broomball boasts avid participation. To join this new league you need not be an experienced player; you do need to enjoy the outdoors in winter and you should be prepared to laugh and have a good time. These three ingredients are the prerequisites for co-ed broomball. Managers of teams should call Parks and Recreation at 454-8100 by December 1, 1987. CARDIO -PULMONARY RESUSCITATION/ The Department of Parks and Recreation and Divine Redeemer Paramedics are co -sponsoring CPR training for the lay person this fall. The course will concentrate on one person CPR and provide a significant amount of practice time on the Resusci Annies. DOG OBEDIENCE The Eagan Parks and Recreation Department offers classes in dog obedience training on Thursday evenings this fall. Dogs must be nine (9) months old or older to train effectively. Class size is limited to provide maximum instruction. Children must be four years old as of September 12 for the four year old class and five years old as of September 12 for the five year old class.
