V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Discussion Regarding Armor Waste Hauling (5:40 -6:15)
FACTS: The City received a report that Armor Waste Systems, a licensed
commercial waste hauler within the City of Eagan, has been picking up waste in a
residential townhome complex without holding a required residential hauling
license. The report also indicated that Armor was not abiding by the City's daily
hauling schedule (Monday, Wednesday, Friday pick -up areas). Upon meeting
with a representative of the company, the City Clerk indicated that Armor needed
to abide by the City ordinance and immediately discontinue operations in
residential areas. The Armor Waste Systems representative brought forward a
number of questions and concerns related to the City's waste hauling ordinance
and whether or not all of the eight (8) currently licensed residential waste haulers
are actually servicing residential accounts. He would like to address these
questions and concerns to the Commission.
