3578 Sawgrass Tr E - Memo re: Structural Engineering Braced Wall MEMORANDUM I hereby certify that this plan, specification or report To: Lennar Corporation was prepared by me or under my direct supervision Re: Front Den Braced Wall Review and that I am a duly licensed professional engineer ota . 1622 - Kingsfield "B2" under the laws of :V7~~7 3578 Saw crass Trail East Eagan, MN Nick Hanson Stonehaven Preserves Date: 8-22-12 Project No. 2.0222 Minnesota Registration No. 46665 III ICI The purpose of this memorandum is to report the findings of a structural engineering braced wall review of the revised front Den wall to the 1622 -Kinsfield "B2" -plan proposed in the Stonehaven Preserves at the address above. The Hanson Group has reviewed the proposed modification and the following is noted: 1. The front garage wall braced portal frame detail provided by Ulteig Engineers should be referenced for bracing at the front garage wall. 2. The attached partial plan of the modified front Den wall provided by Lennar is attached below for reference. The modification is an 8'-4" wide window in place of a 5/0x6/0 window specified. A structural engineering review was conducted of the proposed modified front wall Den window. The modification outlined above and in the attached partial plans will not affect the structural integrity of the Main Windforce Resisting System as laid out by Ulteig Engineers provided the attached shear wall detail is constructed to brace the front wall. After our review of the above information and associated documentation, it is our professional engineering opinion that the proposed modification will not affect the braced wall layouts previously provided upon construction of the shear wall detail. This document applies to the review of the front Den wall modification of the braced wall drawings provided by Ulteig Engineers. All other aspects of the project are outside the scope of this document. All construction is to be in accordance with this document, standard industry practice, and the requirements of the Code.
