03/30/1971 - Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission s r MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF PARK BOARD i T0G7H OF EAGAN, DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA March 30, 1971 Members Present: Neil Coates, Dale Everson, Hillie Engborg, Gerber Hatteberg, Dixie Kremer, Barb Schmidt Also Present: Paul Uselmann, John Voss, Ralph Wohlers, Paul Hauge John Voss presented the informational booklet he is preparing. The Park Board recommended that more passive activity be shown on the cover and that costs be shown at the end of the booklet. He has also sent a sample ballot to Stalland & Hauge for study. It will be presented to the Town Board on April 6th for their approval. We will also request that the booklet be mailed May 13th. Barb Schmidt moved that the date for the park bond election be set as May 25th, a change from our tentative May 13th date due to a conflict with the School Board elections. Gerber Hatteberg seconded the motion. A new date for the public hearing was set as May 19th, at Northview School at 7:30 P.M. Both dates will be submitted to the Town Board for approval on April 6th. A film will be sought to open the public hearing. John Voss will research possible sources. He was also requested to get a letter of consent from HUD prior to the public hearing. Ralph Wohlers will have his work finished by April 1st, and will get it to Marge Shadduck for photographing. A special Park Board meeting will be held April 6th after the Park Board report to the Town Board to script the slide presentation. It is very important that everyone attend. The regular Park Board meeting of April 13th will be a joint showing of our program with the Town Board and the Planning.Committee invited. They will be contacted for further assistance. Millie Engborg reported on publicity. She mentioned our need for financial assistance. Prizes for school contest winners will be awarded at Cedarvale Saturday, May 15th, at 1;00 P.M. Park Board members should be pre- sent. Posters will be made for display at business places. Boy Scouts are willing to supervise a continuous slide show on Saturdays at Cedarvale and will need a fact sheet. Plans for a voter registration booth at Cedarvale were dropped. Gerber Hatteberg and Neil Coates will coordinate a yard sign program. Millie will order the signs and each Park Board member is asked to submit names of two people in their area who would be willing to work on this project. Signs will be distributed two weeks before the election. A copy of the Park Board's recommended changes to Ordinance 10.05 will be prepared and distributed to the Town Board, the Planning Committee and to Park Board members.
