business offices, such as ac-
counting, personnel and
finance, for Northwest.
According to Matthew Gonr-
ing, director of Northwest's
public relations, plans for a new
headquarters began last year
after the airline outgrew its cur-
rent headquarters at the
Minneapolis -St. Paul Interna-
tional Airport. It was built and
occupied in 1961. That building
is undergoing a $5 million ex-
pansion to accommodate
maintenance of 20 new 757
jetliners which will be acquired
through 1986.
Eagan was chosen for the new
building because of the large
area of land and its access to the
airport, he said.
