SUBJECT: SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING/JULY 27, 1993
A Special City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27,
1993 , for the purpose of conducting final interviews for the
position of Director of Community Development. The meeting will
begin at 5: 00 p.m. However, a light dinner will be provided
beginning at 4:45 p.m.
Names were drawn out of a hat in order to determine the order of
the candidates to be interviewed. The first interview is scheduled
for 5: 15 p.m. and Peggy Reichert is the candidate who will be
interviewed then. Tom Harmening is scheduled to be interviewed at
6: 00 p.m. .
As of the writing of this memo, neither Assistant to the City
Administrator Duffy or I have received any suggested questions from
members of the City Council. However, we have prepared a draft set
of questions for the Council 's review. Those questions are
attached. If you do have any additional suggestions, please
contact one of use during the day tomorrow.
Also attached for the Council 's information is a copy of a rating
sheet which you may or may not choose to use in arriving at your
final determination.
We were fortunate to receive applications from a number of good
candidates. The six candidates interviewed last week were
excellent. Now that we are down to two outstanding finalists, we
should attempt to select the person who is the best fit for the
City of Eagan, internally and externally. Both finalists are
extremely experienced in Community Development. We are now looking
for the person who will best be able to work with the Mayor and
Council, with staff, with residents, with developers, etc. , at and
for the City of Eagan, specifically.
If any member of the Council has any questions regarding the
procedure, please call either of us.
There are no other items scheduled for the Special City Council
meetin on Tuesday.
