08/12/1969 - City Council Regular MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD eF SUPERVISORS EAGAN TOWNSHIP, U AKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA August 12, 1969 A regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, Eagan Townshi P� Dakota County was held at the Eagan Town Hall on August 12, 1969 at 7:00 o'clock p.m. at which all ner bcrs were present. Chairman Klein presided. Mr. Richard Holz appeared, requesting an addition to his present garage at Cliff Rd. & Hiway #3 in the amount of $1000. Upon motion of Chairman Klein, seconded by Supervisor Rahn aye Supervisor Uselmann it was RESOLVED that the above permit be approved. Mr. Richard Seymour appealed, relative to a request for a building permit for a garage, 22 x 24, in the amount of WOO on his property on Silver Bell Rd. near Cedar Ave. Upon motion of Chairman Klein, seconded by Supervisor Uselmann it was RESOLVED that the above permit be approved. Police Chief Martin DesLaurisrs:. appeared relative to several police matters. He ineicated he would need 8 full-time men starting September inasmuch as there are presently 120 business places to check plus other police work. He has hired Mrs. Marlene Adam for part time clerical work and would like to keep her on part-time duty. He also indicated he would like to discontinue using the police car for hospital runs, however, the Hoard indicated that presently they would like to keep the station wagon and use it for emergency use. He indicated the need for a single frequency radio costing approximately $750.00. Upon motion of Supervisor Uselmann, seconded by Supervisor Rahn it was RESOLVED that the purchase of a radio be approved. The Board will meet with Mr. DesLauriers ,,gain on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:00 P.M. for reviewing salaries of police officers. Mr. C.O. Solberg appeared native to the operation of a gravel pit on the McCarthy property at Deerwood Dr. & Pilot Knob Rd. He indicated the gravel was being used for township roads. Upon motion of Supervisor Uselmann, seconded by Supervisor Rahn, aye Chairman Klein it was RIs3uLVED that a Special Gravel Permit be approved for Town Contracts only forthe balance of 1969 upon payment of a r 2 $250.00 fee and submission of the appropriate lid. Richard Thorpe, Park Board Chairman, and Mr. Harrison appeared relative to the park plan for Blakchawk Hills .Addition. They would like to request trails around the lake and use Blackhawk Lake as a Public Lake for swimming & wild life. Mr. Rosene stated that Blackhawk should be used for a pounding area with a lift station at the west end. This could raise the level 10'. No decision was made in this regard. Mr. Branch, Public Works Supt., appeared relative to his request for a new 2i tone truck with a snow plow and wing and also a new plow for the 1113. tong=ttuckl Mr. Rosene indicated he' would bring out specs for Mr. French's approval. Mr. Brarxeh. also i.ndiected he would need to purchase mew tools and benches for the new garage. He will meet with the Board of September 4 to review salaries of his employees. Mr. Rosene .presented an agreement with the Milwaukee Pad. grnnting the Township permission to jack a water main under the railroad tracks on Yankee Doodle Rd. 4 near Hiwy. #49. U;;or3 motion duly made by Supervisor Rahn, seconded by Chairman Klein it was RSSOLVID that the agreement be properly signed. A letter was presented to the Board from Mr. Daniel Gustafson relative to a request for sewer and :ester to the mobile home site in Section 13. The Board :indicated they were not ready at the point to commit therselves to a firer: date for installation of these facilities. Upon motion the bills were or4ered paid.
