A visual I
ran was conducted on lot B & 7 block 3. The house pads were not staked. The lots were excavated Individually. AN of the
topsoil and organic sods were removed down- to a mast bottom. A shallow hand auger probe was performed to verify soil coraistsncy with
depth. Water wasn't visible In the excavation and was not encountered during the hand auger probe. AN unsuitable material tied been
removed to a suitable bottom soil. The estimated over sizing was adequate. Base on the information obtained, Al with Hedges, the
contractor, was advised that the inspected lots were approved for fill.

DYNAMIC CONE PENETROMETER TEST REPORT
As requested, a site visit was made December 3, 2012 at 9:50 A.M., to test soil consolidation within
a house pad prepared for the construction of a single-family residence. The engineered fill
consisted of a clay loam, below optimum moisture (dry to damp).
The soils were evaluated at proposed grade, with a dynamic cone penetrometer per ASTM STP-
399. The dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP), employs a eight kilogram (17.6 pound) hammer to
drive a 20 millimeter diameter conical point into the soil, with the penetration recorded in millimeters
per blow. From the DCP readings, a per/blow, penetration average was recorded and a N-value
derived. This N -value is an empirical relationship we have established to equate the dynamic cone
data to the more familiar blows per foot (BPF) standard penetration soil boring test.
Test #1 - Front Footing Line
DCP Depth Per Blow Avg I N-Value Estimated Load
384 MM (15.122.6 MM / N -15 Exceeds 4000 PSF
Test #2 - Rear Walkout Footing Line
DCP Depth _ Per Blow Avg. / N-Value Estimated Load
218 MM (8.6") 13.0 MM / N-24 Exceeds 4000 PSF
Test #3 -Garage Area
DCP Death Per Blow &A. / N-Value Estimated Load
163 MM (6.4°) 10.2 MM / N-36 Exceeds 4000 PSF
In our opinion, the observed and tested soils are acceptable, exceeding an assumed minimum
bearing capacity of 2000 PSF.
Our observations and subsequent soil evaluation on this date, is limited in scope to soils tested at
proposed grade within the house pad. Therefore, we are unable to assess sub-grade material at the
depths, which may be encountered by borings conducted as part of a standard subsurface
geotechnicai investigation.
