I've marked the location of the proposed retaining wall in red (and circled the area in red) on the attached plat map. Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but the retaining wall I will be constructing follows the exact dimensions of the decaying wood retaining wall that's currently in place (8 feet out from the south wall of our house, then a right angle with an 8 foot sloping continuation that's parallel to the house's south wall and extending west). The only difference is that the current configuration has rotting, decaying wooden steps going down. I will not be replacing those steps, but will simply extend the wall out 4 feet further (8 feet total) in place of the steps.
