available at the Civic Arena.

size and enrollment. Full payment must accompany the registration form. Classes with 1-2 skaters that have not been cancelled will

contact the Skating School Coordinator at (651) 675-5453. Note: If you are new to the program, place your skater in a lower level
than you think, as each skater is evaluated the first day of lessons.
STARS Development Program
Class is open to skaters Beta and up and offered on Monday. This program
is designed for skaters who have demonstrated a desire to skate more and
accelerate their learning in a faster paced group lesson environment. Our new

membership in the Eagan Ice Crystal Figure Skating Club. Each week skaters will
participate in a 30 minute off ice segment and 30 minute on ice segment.
• On Ice – stroking edges, spins, jumps, artistry in motion and intro to team
skating.
• Off Ice – Proper warm-up, stretching, conditioning exercises and cool down
tips.

Eagan’s Puppet Wagon
Now in the 12th summer, the puppet program has a new look and new wagon for the season! The puppet wagon provides fun, entertaining and interactive shows with singing and dancing for the whole family. Additional show sites are added for this summer. Shows are performed Monday through Friday mornings as well as Monday evenings. Beginning June 9 and running through August 15, the puppet shows are held in Eagan’s Parks. Pack your blankets, stay after the show to enjoy free art projects, play on the playground and meet other families.
Don’t forget to bring “puppet mail” for the puppet’s mail box and the puppets will read aloud each day.
Puppet shows are free of charge and last about 15-25 minutes in length, all planned around a theme and lesson that is used for the entire week. The themes and shows will incorporate dancing, movement and crowd participation as well as the show.
Puppet shows start promptly at the scheduled time. In the event of inclement weather puppet shows will be cancelled and not rescheduled, call the Recreation Hotline at (651) 675-5511 for up to date information.

Welcome to Preschool
The City of Eagan Parks & Recreation Department welcomes you and
your preschooler to a wide selection of quality preschool programs.
Eagan Preschool Program’s focus is on the social development of
children ages one through five years old. Participants will benefit by
developing their social skills through play, art projects, stories, songs,
games and outside play. Participants also have the opportunity to
develop their independence, self-help, sharing skills and learn to
follow directions. Teachers are experienced instructors committed
to offering your preschooler a positive experience and providing
support for your child’s first school years. The program has been
serving the community since 1978 and continues to provide quality
programs to the community and over 30 years of experience opportunities for all
participants. Each year new classes and sessions begin in January, March, June and
September.
Eagan Parks & Recreation uses the following guide lines to define who is a
preschooler for participation in our programs:
• Children who are the appropriate age on or before the first day of class.
• Children who are completely toilet trained and independent in the bathroom.
• Children are required to wear underwear; pull-up type diapers are not allowed.
• Toilet training is not required for children registered in parent/child classes.
• Bright Beginnings and Let’s Play! Music Together classes are for children who
are the age stated in the class and accompanied by an adult. Additional siblings
are welcome, when age appropriate and additional fees paid as listed in the
program.
• Just for 5’s (and some 4’s, too!) class is for children who are the appropriate age
to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2014.
Please note:
Due to the popularity of our preschool program, classes tend to fill up quickly. Wait
lists will be maintained in a manner that accommodates participants new to the
program.
Participants enrolled in more than one preschool class per session may experience
programming duplication between classes.

Evening T-Ball
Ages 4-6 with a parent
T-Ball is a sport based on baseball and is an
instructional program that focuses on the fundamental
skills needed to be successful in baseball, while creating a
fun environment that will help your child foster a real love for
the game. Children with their parent’s guidance as their coach, will
learn the basics of the game through repeated drills practiced between parents and
players. Siblings that are not registered as part of the class are not able to attend
or be on the field. Basics such as throwing, catching, hitting and base running are
the core of the curriculum. Our instructional classes will build confidence, while
recognizing the importance of teamwork and cooperation. Ball games will be played
towards the end of the session of
class. Players and parents should
bring a glove and a water bottle
to each class, wear comfortable
athletic type clothes, athletic shoes
and hats, (which are provided to
the players the first class day). All
participants and parents registered
by June 4 will receive a t-shirt.
Registrations occurring after the
deadline unfortunately are not
guaranteed a t-shirt.

QuickStart Tennis Lessons
Ages 5-10
Hey kids! There is no better time to start playing tennis than
now! QuickStart tennis is a new and exciting format for learning the
game of tennis. The goal of the QuickStart Lessons is for kids ages 5-10 to build skills
that enable kids to rally with a partner.
USTA (United States Tennis Association) created the QuickStart format to cater
directly to younger beginning tennis players. To make it easier for the youngsters
to learn, the QuickStart tennis format changed the net size, the court size, the balls,
the rackets and even the scoring system to make it easier for younger players. The
program is designed to help children succeed but also focuses on having fun through
games, relays and instruction. Participants are asked to wear tennis shoes, bring
their racket and a water bottle. A limited number of rackets will be available for
those without one.
New this year, the lessons will be broken down into two one-week sessions.
Registrants are encouraged to sign up for both Session I and Session II to get the
best possible experience. The two sessions do not have to be taken consecutively,
but must take Session I before Session II.
Juniors Tennis Lessons
Ages 10-12
Junior Tennis lessons are geared towards
pre-teens with little or no experience.
Lessons provide an opportunity to develop
and practice basic skills. Youth will
practice a new skill each day, learn correct
techniques, review a previously learned
skill and participate in games to help
reinforce skills taught. Wear appropriate
clothing, bring water and a racket.
Make Ups: One day is scheduled for each
week in case of class cancellation.
10:00 a.m. lessons will be made up at 2:00
p.m. on the Friday of that week.
11:00 a.m. lessons will be made up at 3:00

In accordance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, the Parks & Recreation
Department hereby informs participants that the personal information requested on the
registration form is considered private. Private data is available to the participant and to
City staff who need to have this information to perform their duties, but not to the public.
While participants may choose to withhold this data, the consequences could be that the
City’s staff may not be able to complete the registration and/or the participant may not
receive updated program information, such as schedule changes.
Eagan Parks & Recreation periodically takes pictures of participants in classes, during
special events and in the parks. Please be aware that these photos may be used in the
City’s brochures, pamphlets, or cable presentations. If a participant does not want to be
photographed or published written notice must be provided.
