child to learn to skate. This class will focus
on the skating basics for the child. Adult
must have some skating experience.
Hockey Skills
Helmet, shin pads and elbow pads are
mandatory. Full hockey gear is suggested.
Sticks and pucks are not to be used as
the focus is on skating skills, speed and
edge control. Skaters must have passed
Beginner Level 3 to be eligible for this
class.
Parents: If your skater is just starting

multiple classes. No family discounts are
available on ISI individual memberships.
Discount not available via eConnect online
registration.
Refunds, Cancellations and Make-up
Policy
No refunds are issued after classes begin.
Refunds will be considered on a case-by-
case basis for skaters ages 3 and under.
There are no make-up lessons.
Confirmation of Enrollment
Confirmations will not be sent. You can
assume that you are in the class(es) you
registered for unless you receive a call to
the contrary.
Recommended Attire
Eagan Parks & Recreation strongly
suggest snowpants, helmets and gloves/
mittens, especially for skaters ages 6 and
under. We also recommend that newer
skaters start in figure skates. The longer
and flatter blade assists in learning to
balance quicker. Skate and helmet rental is
available at the Civic Arena.
Space will be available on a first come, first served basis until class is full. Eagan Parks & Recreation reserves the right to limit class
size and enrollment. Full payment must accompany the registration form. Classes with 1-2 skaters that have not been cancelled will
receive a 15 minute private/semi-private lesson with the remainder practice time. For more information on skating lessons, please
contact the Skating School Coordinator at (651) 675-5453. Note: If you are new to the program, place your skater in a lower level
than you think, as each skater is evaluated the first day of lessons.

STARS Development Program
Class is open to skaters Beta and up and offered on Saturday. This program
is designed for skaters who have demonstrated a desire to skate more and
accelerate their learning in a faster paced group lesson environment. Our
program is designed to be a “bridge” between group lessons and learning about
membership in the Eagan Ice Crystal Figure Skating Club. Each week skaters will
participate in a 30 minute off ice segment and 30 minute on ice segment.
• On Ice – stroking edges, spins, jumps, artistry in motion and intro to team
skating.
• Off Ice – Proper warm-up, stretching, conditioning exercises and cool down
tips.

Welcome to Preschool
The City of Eagan Parks & Recreation Department welcomes you and
your preschooler to a wide selection of quality preschool programs.
Eagan Parks & Recreation preschool program’s focus is on the
social development of children ages two through five years old.
Participants will benefit by developing their social skills through play,
art, projects, stories, songs, games, and outside play. Participants will
also have the opportunity to develop their independence, self-help
and sharing skills and learn to follow directions.
Teachers are experienced instructors committed to offering your
preschooler a positive experience and providing support for your
child’s first school years. The program has been serving the community since 1978
and continues to provide quality programs and new opportunities for all participants.
Each year new classes begin in January, March, June and September.
Eagan Parks & Recreation uses the following guide lines to define who is a
preschooler for participation in our programs:
• Children who are the appropriate age on or before the first day of class.
• Children who are completely toilet trained and independent in the bathroom.
• Children are required to wear underwear; pull-up type diapers are not allowed.
• Toilet training is not required for children registered in parent/child classes.
• Bright Beginnings and Let’s Play! Music Together classes are for children who
are the age stated in the class and accompanied by an adult. Additional siblings
are welcome, when age appropriate and additional fees paid as listed in the
program.
• Just for 5’s (and some 4’s, too!) class is for children who are the appropriate age
to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2015.
Please note:
Due to the popularity of our preschool program, classes tend to fill up quickly. Wait
lists will be maintained in a manner that accommodates participants new to the
program.
Participants enrolled in more than one preschool class per session may experience
programming duplication between classes.

Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fun, fascinating music activities you can recreate at home. Or, babies eight months and younger at the time of registration may attend a Mixed Ages Class (see page 15), whether registered on their own or attending free with an older brother or sister.Babies Class includes an 8-week session of 45 minute classes, CD & digital download, songbook and suggestions for musical activities at home. Eagan Parks & Recreation • (651) 675-5500 • www.cityofeagan.com
With panoramic views of Central Park while you are
working out and friendly staff to assist you, the Eagan
Community Center feels more like an “exercise retreat
center” compared to a typical fitness center.
The Eagan Community Center, ECC, is welcoming to people
of all ability levels and has many options to get started such
as a group fitness punch card, a daily guest pass, a daily indoor track-only pass or a month-to-month membership.
The ECC hosts 35 group fitness classes per week that are included with a membership. Classes such as zumba, yoga,
muscle mix and more are sure to keep you inspired and engaged with other class participants.
If you have specific goals you are striving for or simply need to get pointed in the right direction
with an exercise plan, the ECC has certified personal trainers to assist. If you would like to focus
on improving your posture to help alleviate nagging soreness, the ECC also has certified postural
alignment trainers.

Adult Sports Gather a team of family, friends or co-workers and stay active
this winter by participating in an Eagan Parks & Recreation
league. Stay warm and play indoor basketball or volleyball, or
head outside and join a broomball or boot hockey league.
Get ready for the softball season by playing indoor, arena
softball at the Eagan Civic Arena! Team registrations will be
accepted after January 1 and league games will be played March -
April. Visit www.eagancivicarena.com for more information. www.cityofeagan.com/adultsports
