Shows are performed Monday through Friday mornings as well as Monday evenings. Beginning June 8 and running through August 14, the puppet shows are held in Eagan’s Parks. Pack your blankets, stay after the show to enjoy free art projects, play on the playground and meet other families. In addition to the scripted shows, the Puppet wagon provides art projects, dancing, singing, and interactive large group activities. Puppet mail, jokes of the week, “ask a puppet” time and other interactive opportunities are planned to engage the audience and encourage participation. Puppet shows are free of charge and last about 15-25 minutes in length, all planned around a theme and lesson that is used for the entire week. Don’t forget to bring “puppet mail” for the puppet’s mail box! Puppet shows start promptly at the scheduled time. In the event of inclement weather, puppet shows will be cancelled and not rescheduled, call the Recreation Hotline at (651) 675-5511 for up to date information. Welcome to Preschool The City of Eagan Parks & Recreation Department welcomes you and your preschooler to a wide selection of quality preschool programs. Eagan Parks & Recreation preschool program’s focus is on the social development of children ages two through five years old. Participants will benefit by developing their social skills through play, art, projects, stories, songs, games, and outside play. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop their independence, self-help and sharing skills and learn to follow directions. Teachers are experienced instructors committed to offering your preschooler a positive experience and providing support for your child’s first school years. The program has been serving the community since 1978 and continues to provide quality programs and new opportunities for all participants. Each year new classes begin in January, March, June and September. Eagan Parks & Recreation uses the following guide lines to define who is a preschooler for participation in our programs: • Children who are the appropriate age on or before the first day of class. • Children who are completely toilet trained and independent in the bathroom. • Children are required to wear underwear; pull-up type diapers are not allowed. • Toilet training is not required for children registered in parent/child classes. • Bright Beginnings and Let’s Play! Music Together classes are for children who are the age stated in the class and accompanied by an adult. Additional siblings are welcome, when age appropriate and additional fees paid as listed in the program. • Just for 5’s (and some 4’s, too!) class is for children who are the appropriate age to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2015. Please note: Due to the popularity of our preschool program, classes tend to fill up quickly. Wait lists will be maintained in a manner that accommodates participants new to the program. Participants enrolled in more than one preschool class per session may experience programming duplication between classes. photo by Amy Brosam Discover • Experience • Grow 12 P r e s c h o o l Time Payments Schedule and Scholarship Information Time Payments (3 installment payments) for Fun with 3’s, Tiny Tots, Just for 5’s, Wacky Wednesdays, Friday Friends, SIP for preschoolers and Let’s Play! There is no better time to start playing tennis than now! QuickStart tennis is a new and exciting format for learning the game of tennis. USTA (United States Tennis Association) created the QuickStart format to cater directly to younger beginning tennis players. The QuickStart tennis format changed the net size, court size, balls, rackets and scoring system. The program is designed to help children succeed but also focuses on having fun through games, relays and instruction. Participants are asked to wear tennis shoes, bring their racket and a water bottle. A limited number of rackets will be available for those without one. The lessons are broken down into two one-week sessions. Registrants are required to sign up for Session I before signing up for Session II in order to get the best possible experience. The two sessions do not have to be taken consecutively. Juniors Tennis Lessons Ages 10-12 Junior Tennis lessons are geared towards pre-teens with little or no tennis experience. Lessons provide an opportunity to develop and practice basic tennis skills. Youth will practice a new skill each day, learn correct techniques for various skills, review a previously learned skill and participate in games to help reinforce skills taught. Participants should wear appropriate clothing, bring water and a racket. The sequential movements devised with P.A.T. encourage the body to move as it was constructed to move. The focus is to work from the inside out, promoting structural strength and improving overall health. P.A.T. addresses a variety of conditions that cause muscle imbalances, joint dysfunctions, pain, weakness or instability. It has the potential to restore proper muscle function and joint motion while improving overall strength, fit- ness and athleticism.
