Since the meeting is starting at 5:45 instead of 5:00 p.m., there will be no food served. UPDATE BY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION Each year, early in the legislative session, the City Council makes an effort to meet with their legislative delegation for the purpose of discussing issues of mutual concern that are likely to be raised during the legislative session. The meeting also provides an opportunity for legislators representing the City to provide information on any new bills being introduced or considered that may impact the community. Enclosed on page is a copy of correspondence that was sent to Representative Pawlenty, which is essentially the same text sent to Representative Wilkin, Senator Wiener and Congressman Luther. Please note that at the time the correspondence was sent, it was anticipated that the work session would begin at 5:00 p.m. with other business. There is no work session scheduled at 5:00 p.m. as the agenda indicates. As of Friday, Senator Wiener, Representative Wilkin and a representative from Congressman Luther's office are planning to attend the work session. We have not yet received a response from Representative Pawlenty. OTHER BUSINESS There are no items for Other Business for the Special City Council meeting. The Special City Council meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers. The City Council and legislative delegation will be seated at a table in front of the podium. The meeting will be aired on our cable channel. It will be necessary to honor the adjournment at 6:20 p.m. to allow for staff to set up for the regular City Council meeting. /S/ Thomas L.
