Because of our concerns for you and your family's safety, health and welfare, the City of Eagan's Protective Inspection Division is requiring that you address the following State and Local Dave Osberg Code violations discovered during our inspection. City Administrator 1. Per Section 311.1 of the 2015 Minnesota Residential Code, all dwellings shall be provided with a means of egress. The means of egress shall provide a continuous and unobstructed path of vertical and horizontal egress travel from all portions of the dwelling to the exterior of the dwelling at the required egress door without requiring travel through the garage. Therefore, all miscellaneous clutter obstructing the required paths of egress within the dwelling shall be removed. 2. Per Section 310.1 of the 2015 Minnesota Residential Code, where basements contain one or more sleeping rooms, emergency egress and rescue openings shall be Municipal Center required in each sleeping room. 3830 Pilot Knob Road Since you currently do not have a Code complying emergency egress and rescue Eagan, MN 55122-1810 opening in your basement, it is illegal to have a sleeping room in your basement (permanent or temporary). Per Section 315 of the 2015 Minnesota Residential Code, a carbon monoxide detector shall be installed not more than 10 feet from each sleeping area or bedroom.
