Total ventilation—The mechanical ventilation system shall provide sufficient outdoor air to equal the total ventilation rate average, for each one-hour period according to the above table or equation. For heat recovery ventilators(HRV)and energy recovery ventila- tors(ERV)the average hourly ventilation capacity must be determined in consideration of any reduction of exhaust or out outdoor air intake,or both, for defrost or other equipment cycling. Continuous ventilation-A minimum of 50 percent of the total ventilation rate, but not less than 40 cfm, shall be provided,on a con- tinuous rate average for each one-hour period. The portion of the mechanical ventilation system intended to be continuous may have automatic cycling controls providing the average flow rate for each hour is met. Page 1 of 6 . I • • • • • . Wall thicknesses noted are nominal unless specifically stated otherwise. 2. Maximum wall to footing centerline offset is 2". A minimum of 2"of footing is to extend on each side of the wall. 3. Bar laps when required are to be at least 40 bar diameters for grade 40 and 60 bar diameters for grade 60. 4. Bend horizontal bars or provide matching hooks around all wall corners and intersections. 5. Horizontal bars may be placed anywhere within the wall thickness provided 2"minimum cover is provided. 6. Allowable bar placement tolerance is 1/2". Tying is not required if tolerances are met and maintained. 7. Dowels may be drilled and installed after footing pour unless otherwise noted. Vertical bars may be embedded into footing in place of dowels at the same embedment. Vertical bars and dowels do not need to align. Dowels may be bent down for safety and covering then bent back before wall placement. 8. Sill plate sections require at least two anchors with one within 4"to 12"of each end and at all corners and intersections. Walls less than 24"in length require only one anchor. Sill plates may overhang the face of the wall provided the overhang is not loaded vertically and all anchor bolt/connection tolerances are met. 9. Anchor bolts 1/2"or larger in diameter do not require corrosion protection per IRC section R317.3.1 exception 1. 10. Anchor bolts may be substituted with 1/2"diameter threaded rod epoxy grouted at same spacing with 7"embed. 11. The presence of form oil on the reinforcing is acceptable for the conditions contained in these drawings. 12. Slope grade 6"minimum downward away from foundations within first 10 feet or provide Code adequate swale. 13. Do not backfill until the concrete has reached at least 70 percent of the 28 day concrete strength. Use of adequate shoring is required when the final floor and slab systems are not in place and fully anchored. COLD WEATHER GUIDELINES: The following information is general guidelines for the placement of concrete in cold weather conditions. It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure proper means and methods are followed and that the final in place product is adequate. 1. The contractor is to work with the concrete supplier to obtain a mix design which accounts for the conditions expected. Use of extra cement,early-strength concrete, and accelerators are recommended at temperatures below 20 degrees F. 2. Concrete is to be delivered to the site in a timely manner. 3. Placement of concrete earlier in the day to take advantage of latent heat of sunlight is advised. 4. Do not add additional water. Using water-reducing admixtures is recommended when required. 5. Forms are to be free of snow and ice. Do not place concrete in contact with frozen ground, snow,or ice. 6. Preheating of rebar is not required, however it is to be free of frost, snow, and ice. 7. Use of form blankets or other approved protection is highly recommended for the top of the wall at temperatures below 10 degrees F and for the whole wall when below zero degrees F. THIS WORK CONSISTS OF CONSTRUCTING BOULDER RETAINING WALL STRUCTURES ATTHE APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS AND TO THE DIMENSIONS SHOWN ON THE SURVEY PREPARED BY LANDFORM. CONSTRUCTION IS TO BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE DRAWINGS, STANDARD INDUSTRY PRACTICE, AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CODE. GENERAL NOTES BOULDER WALLS WAS REPORTED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN THE FIELD, OR TAKEN FROM THE SURVEY. ALL INFORMATION IS TO BE VERIFIED PRIOR TO THE START OF 1. INFORMATION USED IN THE DESIGN OF THESEBE CONDUCTED TO VERIFY CONFORMANCE WITH THESE DOCUMENTS. ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS AND CONTOURS ARE TO BE FIELD VERIFIED AND ALL DRAINAGE IS TO CONSTRUCTION. CIN INSPECTIONS ARE BE VERIFIED. IF ANY DRAINAGE CONCERNS OR SITE DESIGN CONCERNS ARISE DURING CONSTRUCTION, CONSULT LANDFORM FOR REQUIREMENTS, AND NOTIFY THE 2. IN PREPARATION OF WALL DESIGN, SOIL STRENGTH PARAMETERS WERE ASSUMED BASED ON REPORTED CONDITIONS. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTORR TTO O VERIFY THE SOIL STRENGTH VGROUP. RAMETERS ARE FOUND TO BE INCONSISTENT WITH THOSE ASSUMED, THIS DESIGN IS NO PARAMETERS ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SOILS AVAILABLE FOR WALL CONSTRUCTION. IF THE SOIL STRENGTH PA E RETAINING WALL SYSTEM CAN BE REDESIGNED. FAILURE TO NOTIFY THE HANSON LONGER VALID AND IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SITE DESIGNER TO NOTIFY THE HANSON GROUP SO TH GROUP MAY RESULT IN AN INADEQUATE RETAINING WALL. 3. DESIGN SOIL PARAMETERS: RETAINED SOIL (IMPORT OR NATIVE) t=30 DEGREES MIN, Y=110± PCF, SAND WITH SOME CLAY/FINES, ALLOWABLE SOIL BEARING PRESSURE - 2,000 PSF. FIELD VERIFY WITH GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING TESTING PRIOR TO STARTING WALL CONSTRUCTION. 4. ANY EXCAVATION BELOW THE WALL SHOULD HAVE PROPER 1:1 LATERAL OVERSIZING. 5. THIS SET OF BOULDER RETAINING WALL PLANS ARE BASED ON INFORMATION BY THE BOULDER CONTRACTOR AND PLANS NOTED IN THE SCOPE ABOVE. IF OTHER PLANS ARE PRODUCED THAT CONTAIN DIFFERENT INFORMATION THAN THAT REFERENCED, THIS PLAN MAY NEED TO BE REVISED AND/OR THE WALL MAY NEED TO BE REDESIGNED. THE BOULDER WALL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR STAYING WITHIN THE RESTRAINTS OF THESE ENGINEERED WALL SECTIONS DURING INSTALLATION. 6. LOCATION OF THE RETAINING WALL IN RELATION TO PROPERTY LINES, UTILITY EASEMENTS, WATERSHED EASEMENTS, OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF EASEMENTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. THE HANSON GROUP ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR THE LOCATION OF THE BOULDER RETAINING WALLS OR IF CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED BOULDER RETAINING WALLS ENCROACH ANY PROPERTY LINES OR EASEMENTS. 7. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE SITE SURVEYING OF THE BOULDER RETAINING WALLS BE BASED ON SURVEYED SITE PLANS AND NOT PROFILE PLANS OR SECTIONS DONE BY THE HANSON GROUP. SURVEYING OF T HE BOULDER RETAINING WALLS MUST TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE DESIGN BATTER INDICATED ON THE ENCLOSED PLANS AND DETAILS. FAILURE TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WALL BATTER FOR THE BOULDER RETAINING WALL SURVEYING WILL PRODUCE INCORRECT LOCATIONS OF ALL TOP OF WALLS AND SHALL BE CORRECTED AT NO COST TO THE HANSON GROUP. 8. WALL GEOMETRY, LOCATIONS, SLOPES AND SURCHARGE LOADS FOR THE BOULDER RETAINING WALLS WERE ASSUMED FROM THE PROJECT PLANS REFERENCED ABOVE. IF CONDITIONS VARY GREATLY IN THE FIELD FROM THOSE SHOWN ON THIS PLAN, THE HANSON GROUP MUST BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE BOULDER RETAINING WALLS TO REVIEW THE DESIGN AND/OR PLANS. MODIFICATIONS TO THE DESIGN AND/OR PLANS MAY BE REQUIRED AFTER THE REVIEW, AND MAY TAKE UP TO TEN BUSINESS DAYS TO COMPLETE. 9. THE HANSON GROUP'S SCOPE IS LIMITED TO THE DESIGN OF THE ITEMS LISTED IN THE PROJECT SCOPE ABOVE. DESIGN OF THE REMAINING ELEMENTS, INCLUDING DRAINAGE, EROSION, GLOBAL SLOPE STABILITY, ETC. IS BY OTHERS. CONTACT THE HANSON GROUP SHOULD ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING BE REQUESTED. NO DETAILED INSPECTIONS WERE CONDUCTED OR REQUESTED. 10. THE COMPACTED BASE FOR THE BOULDER RETAINING WALLS IS TO BE BURIED INTO VIRGIN MATERIAL OR ENGINEERED FILL AS SHOWN IN THE WALL SECTIONS ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE WALL. 11.50 PSF YARD SURCHARGE LOADING ABOVE WALL HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR.
