The welcoming atmosphere these first few months from everyone has been very special; and with my commitment to this City, I can only try to return the favor. Over my first few months I have talked with many of you. I have attended every event so far to help me experience Eagan. This city has wonderful amenities, but it is not a surprise knowing our aging infrastructure will need attention soon. Visioning and planning for park and recreation never rests. We are all benefiting from work completed 20 years ago, and what we do today impacts the next 20+ years of Eagan residents. Quality, exciting, dynamic, and invigorating programs and parks helps prevent so many community challenges. I got into this field because I enjoy working with communities; and I look forward to meeting more of the residents of this wonderful community and learning more where we can make an impact! Eagan Parks & Recreation preschool program’s focus is on the social development of children ages two through five years old. Participants will benefit by developing their social skills through play, art, projects, stories, songs, games, and outside play. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop their independence, self-help and sharing skills and learn to follow directions. Eagan Parks & Recreation uses the following guide lines to define who is a preschooler for participation in our programs: • Children who are the appropriate age on or before the first day of class. • Children who are completely toilet trained and independent in the bathroom. • Children are required to wear underwear; pull-up type diapers are not allowed. • Toilet training is not required for children registered in parent/child classes. • Bright Beginnings and Let’s Play! Music Together classes are for children who are the age stated in the class and accompanied by an adult. Additional siblings are welcome, when age appropriate and additional fees paid as listed in the program. • Just for 5’s (and some 4’s, too!) class is for children who are the appropriate age to enter kindergarten in the Fall of 2017. Please note: Due to the popularity of our preschool program, classes tend to fill up quickly. Wait lists will be maintained in a manner that accommodates participants new to the program. Participants enrolled in more than one preschool class per session may experience programming duplication between classes. Time Payments Schedule and Scholarship Information Installment payments for Fall session and throughout the school year are available for Fun with 3’s, Preschool in the Park, Just for 5’s, Wacky Wednesdays, and Friday Friends. The 1st payment is due at time of registration, all subsequent payments will be processed on the 12th of every month, from October - May. A limited scholarship fund is available for Eagan residents, for participants under age 18 to provide financial assistance for youth participation in Eagan Parks & Recreation programs. The scholarship covers 50% of the class fee with a maximum of $300 per year per participant, while fund dollars last. A self-qualifying scholarship form must be completed at the time of registration and submitted to Eagan Parks & Recreation. Time Payments can be arranged for the remainder of the balance of scholarship recipient’s fee. Please call for additional information (651) 675-5500. New Fee Options Available New alternative fee options are available for Eagan residents and non-residents.
