• Staff has built a strong
working relationship with
staff and customers.
• They are very familiar with
ECC policies and don't
hesitate to be helpful with
setup, cleanup or
responding to customer
• Crowne has served as a
caterer for the past 3 years
but not as a beverage
provider.
• Very motivated to become
the new beverage
provider.
Note: Crowne Plaza withdrew their proposal on 12-27 hoping to increase their chances of being chosen as alcohol provider.
Challenges
• Catering experience in the past
has been less than positive at
times particularly due to high
staff turnover. Have not
experienced an overall strong
working relationship.
• Customer service complaints
(catering) about call not being
returned have surfaced
multiple times as staff
changes even after meetings
with management.
• Have not seen any off-site
beverage service events.
• *Prices listed are not indicative
of actual prices shown on
receipts for other catered
events. For example, kegs are
listed at $325

Comments
• A positive working relationship with
Holiday and their strong customer
service skills have helped to build
positive experiences for ECC guests.
• Prices have remained the same for
the past 3 years with the exception of
keg beer which increased from $225
to $250.
• Although Crowne has provided some
very positive catered experiences for
ECC guests there are some concerns
about the level of service,
consistency and professionalism that
are critical to a sole provider.
• After signing the initial catering
contract in 2003, Crowne drastically
raised their prices for ECC guests.
The new contract will limit raising
costs to once a year and within
certain parameters.
