Document - Historical Society Minutes - Minutes - 1/7/2002HISTORICAL COMMITTEE JANUARY 7, 2002 A meeting of the Historical Committee was held on Monday, January 7, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. Those present were Ray Wade, Ted Wachter, Gin Knight, Mary Ellen Vorachek and Rebecca Snyder. Staff present was Communications Coordinator, Joanna Foote. MINUTES Vorachek made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 3, 2001 meeting; Wachter seconded. All members voted in favor. UPDATE FOR PHOTOS & TWENTIETH CENTURY HISTORY BOOK There was discussion in regards to the loan agreement process of documents, return date and photocopies. Rebecca Snyder indicated that she could help the Society to set up a process similar to that used by the Dakota County Historical Society. Wachter made a motion to establish a system for loan agreements for the purpose of signing out and the return of documents; Knight seconded the motion. All members voted in favor. CITY ROADS AND TRAILS RECOGNITION Foote explained that the City Council has asked that she organize a group of volunteers, preferably from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission and Historical Society to work on a plan to commemorate Eagan’s Roads and trails. She indicated that two members of the Parks Commission had volunteered to work on the project and she asked for two to three volunteers from the Historical Society. Wachter made a motion to ask for volunteers for roads and trails recognition by the February 4, 2002 meeting; Vorachek seconded the motion. All members voted in favor. MUNICIPAL CENTER DISPLAY WINDOWS Wade discussed having a window displaying Univac and other large Eagan businesses. There was further discussion on rotating the upstairs and downstairs windows, and displaying the annual Twin Cities Milk Producers Picnic of 1929 on Don Chapdelaine’s farm. The group agreed to dedicate one of its Monday work sessions to rearrange the display windows. Knight made a motion to put a message out on the City of Eagan’s voice-mail system stating office hours; Voracheck seconded. All members voted in favor. ADJOURNMENT Upon motion by Wachter, seconded by Vorachek, the Historical Society Meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
