Document - Historical Society Minutes - Minutes - 5/6/2002HISTORICAL COMMITTEE MAY 6, 2002 A meeting of the Historical Committee was held on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. Those present were Ray Wade, Gin Knight, Mary Ellen Vorachek, Helen Kennedy, Alice Bolke and Wayne Schwanz. UPDATES Ted Wachter - There was an update on Ted Wachter, who was recently hospitalized. Elisabeth Kennealy – Gin has recently spoken with Elisabeth and she is doing much better, she had even expressed some hope of coming to a meeting soon. Trails Joint Meeting – Wayne Schwanz and members gave an update on the Trails Joint meeting, which was held in April. SORTING SESSIONS There was a discussion regarding the sorting sessions and it was agreed that the sorting sessions will continue to take place every Monday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Committee agreed to check with Linda Bendt, Administrative Secretary to the Chief of Police, regarding a historic files and photos of Police Department records. OPEN HOUSE DATES FOR MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER The Committee discussed open house dates for the Old Town Hall. The following dates were agreed upon: May 19, June 9, July 14, August 11 and September 8. Open houses will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on each of these dates Gin Knight and Ray Wade volunteered to work the May 19th date. Helen Kennedy and Alice Bolke volunteered to be present at the open house on June 9th. Volunteers for other dates will be established at the June meeting. The Committee agreed to meet next Monday, May 13, 2002 at the Old Town Hall from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. to determine what needs to be done or brought over prior to the Open House. UPCOMING PROJECTS Members discussed the status of markers for the Historic Trail (Matt Brown) and other displays for the old Town Hall. NEXT MEETING The next Historical Committee meeting is set for Monday, June 3, 2002, at 3:30 p.m.
