HISTORIC WOOD – PRESENTATION BY GREGG HOVE
Gregg Hove gave a presentation on historic wood unearthed in a drilling operation at the
Central Park site. The wood has been examined by experts from the U of M and has been
determined to be approximately 75,000 tears old or older. There was a consensus among
Committee members to mail Mr. Hove’s information packet out to members not in attendance. It
was also agreed upon to include Mr. Hove’s information with any information that goes to the City
Council regarding the display of the wood. There was further discussion regarding what the display
will look like, where it will be located and how it will be funded.
Knight made a motion to have the Historical Society take an active part in the preservation
process of the Historic Eagan Wood Project as it moves forward. Wachter seconded the motion.
All members voted in favor.
It was suggested to bring Gregg Hove and display experts back to a future meeting.
DISCUSS SORTING DATES FOR FEBRUARY
There was discussion regarding the remaining future sorting session dates for February. It
was decided that on February 11 the Committee would move window displays from upstairs to
downstairs and ask maintenance staff to help clean the windows. On February 18, City offices will
be closed to recognize the Presidents Day holiday. On February 25, the Committee would continue
the move windows. It was also noted that Gin Knight would be gone February 11 and 25.

time or following their regular sorting sessions February 11 or 25 if that is convenient for other
volunteers.
