Document - Historical Society Minutes - Minutes - 10/5/2004 MINUTES EAGAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY OCTOBER 5, 2004 A meeting of the Eagan Historical Society was held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. Those present were Martin Deslauriers (who also Chaired the meeting), Gin Knight, Alyce Bolke, Mary Ellen Voracek, Kim Hazel and Judith Miller. Joanna Foote, Communications Coordinator for the City of Eagan, was also present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Knight made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 7, 2004 meeting of the Eagan Historical Society; Voracek seconded the motion. All members voted in favor. OPEN HOUSE UPDATE The Committee discussed the Open House and stated that over 50 people attended the Open House. Joanna Foote will find out the cost of pencils to reorder and will report the cost at the next History Committee meeting. Miller will check on e-bay the cost of a falt map file for the Committee to purchase. 1914 TOWN HALL BUILDING MAINTENANCE ISSUES The Committee suggested finding contractors that will do odd jobs/”Honey-doers” was one company mentioned. The Committee discussed calling Murphy Landing, Dakota City and the Minnesota Historical Society to see how they do preservation of their buildings. Miller made a motion to postpone work sessions until January of 2005, Bolke seconded the motion. All members voted in favor. Upon Further discussion, the group decided that it would hold a work session for any that can attend, at 2 p.m. on November 9, prior to the next Historical Society meeting. ADJOURNMENT The Eagan Historical Society meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m. Next Meeting rescheduled to November 9 due to Election Day. Historical Committee May 6, 2003/2
