the City Council representatives. She stated the April packet to the Committee will include the
Committee’s recommendation to the City Council plus its accomplishments of 2003.
DONATION FROM TED WACHTER
Ted Wachter donated three slabs of the Lone Oak Tree that he has had in his possession
since the tree was taken down. The group suggested that one slab be mounted in the Old Town Hall
and possibly at the Community Center. Wachter also has several boards from the Sell barn to be
donated. The members suggested that frames might be made and possibly could be used at the
1914 Town Hall for a display about the Sell Farm and Sell Family, or regarding Farms in General.
Historical Committee
March 2, 2004/2
Blomquist made a motion to accept the donated items from Ted Wachter and to thank him
for keeping these items; Voracek seconded the motion. All members voted in favor.

BUDGET UPDATE
Foote indicated that the City’s Finance staff recently informed her that there is an old funding code
which the sale of Lone Oak Books had been coded for a number of years, which is no longer
receiving activity. It was also realized that book sales are now being coded into a different account.
The old account has a balance of some $700. The Finance Department will be transferring these
funds to the new account for access by the Historical Society.
