EAGAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
February 6, 2007
A regular meeting of the Eagan Historical Committee was held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007
at 3:30 p.m. in the Eagan Room at Eagan City Hall. Members present were: Ted Wachter, Jean
Funk, Alyce Bolke, Kim Hazel, Gin Knight, Mary Ellen Voracek and Millie Gignac. Absent was
Communication Coordinator Foote.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Hazel made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 9, 2007 Eagan Historical Society
meeting as presented. Knight seconded the motion. All members voted in favor.
FLAG DAY CELEBRATION
The Committee discussed having a Flag Day celebration and possibly combining it with the
Eagan Senior Group and Holz Farm. The Committee suggested having Foote talk with Cathy Grubb
regarding the Flag Day celebration and the participation of the Eagan Senior Group.
CONSIDER A HOLZ FARM PROJECT
Wachter stated the Historical Society would like to discuss working with Holz Farm on May 5
– Clean Up Day, May 20 – Spring Festival or September 29 and 30 – Lone Oak Days.
OTHER
Knight discussed old letters she had from her brother while he was stationed in the South
Pacific. The Committee commented on the value of such letters, especially since email has now
replaced written letters.
Wachter noted two old pictures he brought in and stated copies could be made for the Historical
Society.
Gignac stated she received a card from the Minnesota Historical Society regarding the Third
Annual History Matters rally being held at the St. Capitol on February 22, 2007.
NEXT HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Eagan Historical Society will be Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 3:30
p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
Upon motion by Bolke, second by Voracek, the meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
