EAGAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
TUESDAY
MAY 5, 2009
3:30 p.m. – EAGAN ROOM
A regular meeting of the Eagan Historical Committee was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 3:30
p.m. in the Eagan Room at Eagan City Hall.
Members present: Martin DesLauriers, Gin Knight, Joan Remick, Millie Gignac, Dawn
Simpson, Kim Hazel and Mary Ellen Voracek.
Staff present: Communication Coordinator Foote.
A. Recap of Photo Project
Knight and Simpson manned the table – there was a good turnout and 2 ½ hours were spent
scanning photos.

Other Miscellaneous
Kathy Jandric brought in photos, clippings, etc. in for Foote to scan. She is the daughter of Emil
Janderic, the developer of Cedar Grove.
Foote circulated the photos that were made from slides Tom Hedges had stowed in his office.
B. Establish 2010 Work Plan and Budget
2009 has $2,500 budget; $500 was included for event or event prep which could be used to
prepare for 2010 anniversary.
150th Event was discussed – An event such as an All Eagan Reunion or a Founding Fathers
Event might be considered?
Members again discussed the possibilities of creating an historical DVD for the 150th
celebration. Foote indicated that she had not gotten any solid prices as of yet for video
production but will continue to research for a figure to include in the 2010 budget. DesLauriers
made a motion for Remick and Simpson to also check on DVD prices for the 150th event.
Voracek seconded the motion. All members voted in favor.
Historical Committee
May 5, 2008
Voracek made a motion to order a banner for the Old Town Hall Open House. Gignac seconded
the motion. All members voted in favor.
Hazel donated a water bowl for cattle from the Rahn Farm. The Rahn barn was torn down in the
1980’s.
C. Other Business
The Committee discussed the Showcase Eagan event. Volunteers to staff the booth at the event
are: Gin Knight, Mary Ellen Voracek, Joan Remick, Dawn Simpson and Kim Hazel.
They agreed to have pencils available to give away at the event. Foote will determine how many
remain.
Members agreed to meet on May 14 at the 1914 Town Hall at 1:30 p.m. to prepare items for the
Showcase Eagan booth and displays.
D. Adjournment
DesLauriers made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Voracek seconded the motion. All members
voted in favor.
