2010 Budget- 2009 budget $2500.00, no increase will be likely. May try to fund an
intern for 120 hours, may want to bring in partners for funding assistance for the 150th
Anniversary.
Discussion on the video for the 150th, Remick got a verbal quote for $60.00 an hour.
Simpson obtained quotes for a video of several different lengths from Home Video
Studio of Eagan. Prices range from $5,000-13,000. Foote indicated that she had secured
further information from Eagan TV staff. Since E-TV is City’s community television
operation and a part of the Communications department (as is Foote) it was determined
that E-TV staff can produce a 15 minute video for play on its channels (play could be
limited through negation with E-TV staff if desired). The video would be produced as a
part of Communications staff functions without direct cost to the Historical Society. If the
committee wishes to reproduce additional videos for sale or other uses, there would be a
reproduction fee.
Foote brought an example of a card received from the city of Woodbury, it was discussed
that we may be able to do something similar using the committee’s general print fund.
Discussion was had on what the focal point should be for the 2010 historical marker.
There is $500.00 allocated from the 2009 budget for signage.
Martin shared a variety of information along with a hand-drawn sketch of what
businesses existed in early Cedar Grove/ Cedarvale area. Foote will have Administrative
staff type something up and/or scan this for the files.
DesLauriers made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 4:47 p.m., Bolke Seconded the
motion.
