Also present was Communication Coordinator Joanna Foote. DODD ROAD SIGN DEDICATION Foote introduced the item and stated she has received no response from Pinewood Elementary School to date. After further discussion by the Committee, the alternate date of the Dodd Road sign dedication is Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., with an open house following the dedication. JUNE 13 OPEN HOUSE PREP & DAY-OF-AVAILABILITY Foote stated, that prior to the June 13, 2010 Dodd Road Dedication, the Society has scheduled its 1st open house at the 1914 Town Hall for 2010. Gignac, Blomquist, Simpson and Knight stated they would be available to be at the Open House and Dedication. Prior to its regular meeting on June 1, 2010, the Committee discussed 1:30 p.m. as a date/time to clean the Old Town Hall and get her ready for the season. POTENTIAL HISTORY MAP OR PHOTO BOOK Foote introduced the item and gave an update on the potential history map and photo book project. Knight stated she found a map of historic roads that Ray Wade had drawn. Foote noted that this is likely similar to the very faded one that hangs at the 1914 Town Hall and the group should look at the one on display to determine if it can be redrawn or replaced. Simpson brought two photos from Pat McCarthy for the Patrick Eagan Park/McCarthy Propery Historical Marker and also a list of businesses that were in the Cedar Grove area from Dirk Bjornson’s facebook work. Foote noted that she had also received information and photos related to these two items. Dakota County Historical Society has sent a variety of photos from its collection to be shared with Eagan’s collection. Included are photos of the McCarthy house with signs of the original log cabin beneath. This house has been removed from the property and is not the house presently used as the Eagan Art House. Foote also noted that Dirk Bjornson had sent photos that his father and he are donating to the Historical Society which depict the corner of Cedar Avenue and Highway 13 as it was in the 1960s (present Nicols Road and Cedarvale Blvd.) The photos were taken by Dirks Father at an accident scene at the location as he was a State Trooper working in this area at that time. STARKS/HALFWAY HOUSE PHOTOS Foote stated Rebecca Snyder sent photos from the Dakota County Historical Society which she showed to the members present. She also stated Starks/Hallway House historical marker is progressing.
