1914 Town Hall 100 Anniversary Recognition
Monday, September 8, Commemorative Event
The committee discussed details for the event. Recreation Supervisor Phillips was available for
questions. Kerry noted she could also assist with cones, tables, chairs, dry erase frames, A‐frames, a
sound system, stage or other logistic supplies as needed, with advance notice. The Sub Committee
discussed possible food vendors.
Foote noted the details of the event will be included in the July/August Experience Eagan.
The Sub‐Committee of Lori Tripp, Mary Ellen Voracek and Kim Hazel agreed to meet to discuss details
following the meeting adjournment.
History Tour
Foote noted she contacted Northfield Bus Line and they are willing to provide a 14 person bus for the
afternoon of Thursday, June 26 or Friday, June 27 at a cost of $255 plus gas. Foote will set it up with
Martin DesLauriers. Members decided they preferred to save the bus rental fee and put monies toward
the September 8 event instead. It was suggested to call DARTS regarding the possibility of a free bus. If
not available/offered, Foote will coordinate tour with Martin and videographer.
1914 Town Hall Museum Update
Foote noted the architects have been developing plans for presentation to the City Council at the June
10th Special City Council Workshop. Foote gave a summary of the possible options that will be
presented at the workshop. Options to be presented include several variations on two locations. One
location would be the Eagan City Hall/Municipal Center Campus. The other is the Former Fire
Administration Campus. Variations include possibilities of moving the 1914 Town Hall from its current
location to the Municipal Center as a stand‐alone building or as an attachment to new space to be built
or disassembling the 1914 Town Hall and using all or parts of the building inside new space on the
Municipal Center Campus or inside the Former Fire Administration Building.
Foote will attend the June 10 meeting and asked that Chair Voracek accompany her. All other members
are welcome to attend.
OTHER
Foote gave an overview of her history presentation given to the 6th graders at Black Hawk School.
Bernie Jensen noted as part of the working group on the Legacy Grant over at the _____ museum, in
order to handle all the photographs, part of the money they received from the state was used to
purchase a new scanner and memory device for storage. Foote also mentioned for discussion at the
next meeting the possibility of having a booth to recruit volunteers at Market Fest.
