The City Council took action to enter into a contract with Mohagen Hansen a local firm that has partnered with the MacDonald & Mack, (MacDonald & Mack specific experience with historical projects). The firm will meet with staff and various stakeholders in early May to assess Historical Society and community needs so that they may prepare proposals of the design options and cost estimates at a June Council workshop. Staff has also met with a variety of possible partners organizations to determine interest and feasibility to co-locate within the former Fire Administration building (one of the potential scenarios) for Historical Society purposes. Interest has been shown by several parties. 1914 Town Hall 100th Anniversary Planning The Eagan Historical Society has also been discussing plans to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the 1914 Town Hall, despite the fire. • A display has been assembled which depicts some of the items from the 1914 Town Hall collection. Landis intends to donate the finished painting to the Eagan Historical Society and make prints available as a fundraising opportunity. • A Monday, September 8 event (the one year mark of the Arson) has been slated and planning is beginning. The event will be held in the afternoon/evening on the 1914 Town Hall site. Details are yet to be determined.
