Simpson agreed to take the lead coordinating maps. Other members agreed to assist and thought Ringberg is likely to work on the government section. New Equipment & Intern Foote noted that a historical Society tablet/computer has been ordered and is being set up for use during display assembly sessions. This will allow members to access photos of collection items and documents. It will be a part of a future workspace as well. She also stated that the 2016 budget includes funding for an intern for a number of weeks to help with this process. Foote will be creating the job description and moving forward with posting at U of M, Hamline and other area schools with solid History/Library Science programs. New Membership Drive Noting a lack of time remaining in the meeting, this item was tabled for future discussion. DCHS Update Oxley reported that the Dakota County Historical Society Board has hired Matthew Carter as the new Executive Director. He hopes there will be a chance in the near future for the group to meet him. Oxley also spoke about the evaluation of the current Lawshe Museum building in South St. Paul and it’s nearly $5 million in renovation needs. The County Board will be reviewing options. Other Foote encouraged the members to check out the display cabinet in the hallway as an example of a case constructed by Eagan Parks Maintenance staff. Similar cabinets might be requested for displaying items at the 1914 Town Hall.
