HISTORICAL SOCIETY BUSINESS 1914 Town Hall Building Reconstruction Foote indicated some painting touch-up continues and a few items will need to wait for spring weather, but the building is substantially complete. She had 5 benches, the pot-belly stove, two tables and 5 chairs returned to the building prior to the meeting today and the tour we will provide for Dakota County Histoical Society members today at 4:30 p.m. Fundraising Update Members discussed the list of people and organizations who have donated to the 1914 Town Hall project, based on the list included in the February minutes. • Community Development Block Grant of $100,000 • Eagan Foundation Grant of $525: $10,000 – Eagan Lions $ 5,000 – J.A. Thank you notes have been sent to all donors. Display Assistance Foote reported that a representative for a potential major donor has approached the City Administrator. A number of questions have been asked about the possibilities for donor recognition on the 1914 Town Hall site. Communications Director Garrison and Coordinator Foote will be asking for possible concepts to be created for this purpose. No decisions have been made, nor will they move forward for approval without further information and input from the Historical Society but one of the designers we have met with previously for display master-planning may be retained to develop concepts. Display Reassembly Worksessions were set for Tuesday, March 8 and Tuesday March 22. Fire Department Appreciation Recap Ringberg provided a recap of the remarks he made on behalf of the Eagan Historical Society at the recent Fire Department’s Annual Appreciation Banquet. Ringberg expressed appreciation for the firefighter’s quick response and their added work of salvaging historic items from the building when the fire was suppressed. OTHER Hough inquired about holding a fundraising activity such as grilling Brats at a local business to benefit the Town Hall project. Foote will determine if this is a possibility.
