HISTORICAL SOCIETY BUSINESS Intern Footed noted three individuals were interviewed for the intern position and a candidate has been chosen. More information will be available at the next meeting. The intern will be working on the displays/display cases, assisting with Town Hall needs, scanning articles and filing. Fundraising Presentation Foote noted she was asked to give a presentation to members of the Eagan Rotary Club on July 14 at the Old Town Hall. The presentation was similar to that given to DCHS Board Members and the Lion’s Club, with the addition of information specific to a proposed accessory structure/restroom and workroom space. The group walked the site to better understand how the building would be located and accessed. 1914 Town Hall Display Reassembly Foote talked about cabinet and display space needs and the possibility of having maintenance staff build what we need. The group discussed the need for more cabinet space and what exactly those needs are. Foote also noted additional displays to consider are: changes to items placed, subsequent displays we would like to work on, and display furniture/equipment needed before the fall event. Foote stated there have been several groups interested in visiting the Old Town Hall; a senior group is scheduled on September 19. Kern has offered to staff the OTH on several days in September (TBD). Recognition Event Prep The group discussed food and drink for the event. It was agreed that lemonade, water and mini desserts would be served. Foote noted the September 8 date previously proposed for the recognition event may not work for our intended guests. Several dates were discussed and the group agreed upon Thursday, September 29 from 5-7:00 p.m. For the fall public open house the group agreed upon Thursday, October 6 from 4-6 p.m. and Sunday, October 9 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Foote went over the email invite list for the recognition event.
