I will sign off on the zoning permit. You will be receiving a copy for your records. Thank you for working with us on this project. I s • The fence shall be maintained in sound and good repair and free from deterioration, loose or rotting pieces, or holes, breaks,or gaps not otherwise intended in the original design of the fence. The fence shall be free from any defects or condition which makes the fence hazardous. Ii • All exterior wood surfacesof any fence, other than decay resistant woods, shall sba4Sfljatecteci from the efer ents by paint or other protective surface covering or treatment, whit` s j V"'aintained in good repair to provide the intended protection from the mei ts. • No fence section shall have peeling, cracked, chipped or otherwise deteriorated surface finish, including but not limited to: paint or other protective covering or treatment, on more than twenty percent (20%) of any one linear ten-foot (10') section of the fence. s i Again, plywood and plastic are not considered acceptable materials to meet the criteria listed in the 3rd bullet. A zoning permit is required in advance of work being done. This process prevents construction occurring that is not in compliance with City Code. Please provide your proposal so that it can be reviewed before you make any changes. Can you please provide me reference to these? I don't want to make any changes and have them found to be unacceptable. Reading the handout, I don't see anything that would cause the existing construction to be unacceptable, so I assume there must be some other regulation you must be using. Also, I have been made aware that the trellis has already been constructed upon your property. Please note the City of Eagan defines "fence"as: any partition, structure, wall or gate erected as a dividing marker, visual or physical barrier, or enclosure and located along the boundary or within the required yard. Thus, your trellis is technically a fence and will be reviewed per the City of Eagan Fence regulations. r Please provide additional information in relation to the materials used for this fence. Are the materials weather resistant and is the finished side facing out? I've attached a fence handout for your use. i s Additionally, is the fence located on your property line? I was unable to interpret the exact location based on the Site Plan submitted.
