Direction to Consider
Feedback is requested from the Finance Committee on the desirability to proceed with the
following:
1.) Secure appraisals on both Fire Station #1 and Fire Station #5
2.) Begin the process of preparing purchase agreements for Fire Station #1 and Fire
Station #5
3.) Determine the extent of property that will be considered for sale at Fire Station #5
4.) Continue with the title correction process at Fire Station #5
Facts
Original proposals for Fire Station #1 were rejected, and authorization was granted to
receive new proposals with a submittal deadline of November 6, 2017.
Two proposals were received by the November 6, 2017 deadline.
Staff will review the two proposals received, both of which are similar to those which
were submitted at the original submittal deadline of July 31, 2017.
The favored proposal for Fire Station #5 indicated they were no longer interested in
pursuing the purchase of Fire Station #5
Staff has been in contact with the 2nd preferred proposer for Fire Station #5, which
included a meeting on November 7, 2017 and their continued interest was confirmed at
that time.
Staff will provide more information at the meeting on the proposer’s plans for Fire
Station #5 and flexibility on what property would be included in the purchase
agreement, which would lead to subsequent changes in the purchase price.
Appraisal on Fire Station #1 would cost $2,000 with an expected delivery date of January
5, 2018
Appraisal on Fire Station #5 would be $3,000 with an expected delivery date of January
12, 2018.
