I spoke to the contractor. The aerial image with lines imposed on it is a more accurate depiction of the extent of
fence. It appears to be more than 25'from the lake and not down by the edge of the easement. The homeowners are
doing the clearing. They don't need to remove large vegetation or do extensive clearing,just clear some brush and cut
back branches to provide a 2' wide area for the crew to be able to walk through the woods/brush and set the posts and
install the fence. A survey is being done to identify property lines.

We are in receipt of your Zoning Permit application to install a fence on the above listed property. This property is on
O'Leary Lake, and as such, is subject to Shoreland Overlay District standards. In reviewing the application,the fence
dimensions on the bid, and the site plan drawing,there appears to be a discrepancy on the actual placement of the
fence that needs clarification.
Below is an aerial image with the estimated extent of fence placement based on the measurements represented on the
bid. However,the Site Plan shows the fence being placed at the extent of the d/u easement,which runs just along the
lake. The image below would be acceptable fence placement, provided land disturbance is within the limiatios of the
Shoreland Overlay zoning,and limited to just what is necessary to install the fence. Fence placement along the lake
shoreline as represented on the site plan survey is not acceptable.
Also,the bid notes a certified surveyor will be used,and "clearing done by others". To what extent is clearing being
done? Shoreland Overlay zoning restricts vegetation removal in Shoreland areas.
Please clarify the actual placement of the fence, and the extent of clearing,so we can complete our review of the Zoning
Permit application. Let me know if you have any questions.
