MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF ADVISORY PLANNING CMZaTTEE
DAKOTA COUNTY, VITLLAGE OF EAGAN$ MINNESOTA
October 9, 1973
A special meeting of the Advisory Planning Committee was held at the
Village Hall at 7:00 p.m. on October 9. 1973. Those present were Chairman
Marble, Membem Dembroaki, Harrison, lfiirphy and Toso.
Chairman Marble indicated that the sole purpose of the meeting was to
review the application of Virgil Schaaf to rezone the East 400 feet of Lot 3,
in Auditor's Subdivision #38 in Township 27, South of Highway #55 from A -
Agricultural to C-2, Heavy Commercial. The matter had been continued from the
regular meeting of September 25th. The Village Attorney indicated that he bed
discussed the matter with Mr. Schaaf and with Mr. Schaaf's attorney to attempt
to come up with some suggestion as to revising the zoning classification of the
property without rezoning to C-2, Heavy Commercial. There appeared to be n:: ,4y
to accomplish the objective to permit Mr. Schaaf to refinance his equipment .9nd
for future financing of the real estate. After considerable discussion, upon
motion by Member Harrison, seconded -Member Dembroski, all members voting in
favor, it was RESOLVED that the application be recommended for approval in spite
of the fact that it may appear to be spot rezoning; however, the land is adjacent
to a heavily traveled four lane highway, the property owner has done a very good
job of developing the property under the conditional use permit for commercial
,ur os" and indications are that the use of the property will not be of an
offensive oo:ure iu the future. I
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
