ADJOURNMENT MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILMEMBERS FROM: CITY ADMINISTRATOR HEDGES DATE: AUGUST 24, 1984 SUBJECT: SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING A special City Council meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Monday, August 27, 1984, for the purpose of reviewing the 1985 Budget as proposed. Since the City Administrator is concentrating a great deal of time on the final documents for the Star City project, the total reduction that was recommended 'at the last special City Council meeting will not be completed by Monday evening. However, it is important to spend time reviewing those departments that were not dicussed at the first budget meeting. Following a discussion of the remaining departmental budget requests, it is suggested that a recap be held by the City Council to provide additional direction as to where budget reductions should occur. Originally, we had intended to begin the meeting at 7:00 p.m. to allow time for viewing the slide presentation prepared by the Economic Development Commission. I have learned today that many of the slides were sent to a photography studio to be reframed into two -split and four -split slides and that other slides were removed to be retaken by the Commission. Therefore, the slides will not be reviewed; however, it is anticipated that the City Council could review the slides at 6:30 p.m. on September 4. It would only take approximately ten to fifteen minutes and there would be a voice with the slides at that time. City Administrator 1 SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY AUGUST 27, 1984 7:30 P.M. I.
