ADJOURNMENT MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY FROM: CITY ADMINISTRATOR HEDGES DATE: AUGUST 25, 1989 SUBJECT: SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 29, 1989 FINAL PLAT - SENECA PLANT ADDITION Enclosed is the final plat for the Seneca Plant Addition. The development agreement and all other pertinent agreements have been reviewed and found to be acceptable. For Council's information, the City Administrator is proceeding with the selection of a third party facilitator. As a matter of fact, a meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, with Jeff Paulson of the Mediation Center. Included in the meeting will be Betty Bassett representing the neighbors so they are kept informed of any and all progress. BUDGET Enclosed for your review is the draft 1990 budget which includes a narrative explanation and review by section of each Department budget. Reminder: The MLC Breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, at the Burnsville Holiday Inn. Enclosed is a copy of a letter from Jim Sheldon regarding the changes that are taking place in the McMenomy & Severson law firm. We have now reached a final agreement to separate the Rosemount and Apple Valley business offices. Our existing law firm remains intact. The new law offices are being set up in Rosemount by Reid Hansen, Kevin Carroll and Mike McCann. Ed McMenomy will remain in Rosemount and has retired from our firm. He does not know yet whether he will participate in the Rosemount law firm. Our law firm will continue with all of its operations out of our current Apple Valley office. Effective approximately September 1, 1989, we will be renamed Severson, Wilcox & Sheldon, P.A. None of the lawyers involved in any of the Eagan work will change and ,all will remain at their current positions and levels of service with the City. We will continue to serve you with the best legal services possible. We appreciate our working relationship with the Council, you and the staff and expect to continue that well into the future.
