RE: Lebanon Hills Substation-Commercial Building Permit Application
Building Inspections,
Please find enclosed a commercial building permit application for the Lebanon Hills Substation. This
application is being submitted for the proposed construction that will upgrade the existing facility to a
115-kV substation. Dakota Electric Association (DEA) recently received a Comprehensive Guide Plan
Amendment, Rezoning, Conditional Use Permit and Variance for the substation construction.The
associated transmission facilities will be built by Great River Energy and has also received formal
approvals. This facility will not have regular employees stationed on site; once complete we will have
employees come by on occasion for maintenance, inspection and operation as with other substations
within the City.This facility has a utility function and can be operated in many cases remotely from DEA
operations in Farmington.
