08/19/2019 - Energy and Environment Advisory CommissionEAGAN ESTABLISHED 1060 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF THE ADVISORY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION Monday, AUGUST 19, 2019 MEETING MINUTES OF AUGUST 19, 2019 A regular meeting of the Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission (APrC) and Energy and Environment Advisory Commission began at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019. Commission Members present included Member Palmer, Member McWilliams, Member Rayman, Member Schuetzle, Member Moore, Member Pagey, Member Hough, Member Fleenor, Member Dugan, Member Trzpuc, Member Supina, Member Ziese, Member Timmons, Member Baker and Member Miller. Member Klein was absent. Staff members present Parks and Recreation Director Andrew Pimental, Recreation Superintendent Paul Graham, City Forester Adam Schnaible and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jared Flewellen. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Fleenor asked Director Pimental if there were any changes to the agenda. Member Trzpuc asked for Visitors to Be Heard to be added to item VI. Member Supina moved, Member Trzpuc seconded, to adopt the agenda with changes. Aye: 15 Nay: 1 (Member Baker) PRESENTATIONS Recreation Facility Study Members of the 292 Design Group presented to the Commissioners on the Recreation Facility Study being conducted to research the 20 year outlook on Cascade Bay, Eagan Art House, Eagan Civic Arena, Eagan Community Center and potential indoor turf space. 292 Design Group spoke on what the steps are in the process and what has been currently done. Final presentations will be conducted in late 2019/early 2020. City of Eagan Forestry Advisory Parks & Recreation Commission August 19, 2019 Page 2 City Forester Adam Schnaible presented on the background of the Forestry Division as it pertains to number of acres and items that are maintained by the division. The presentation also covered the types of maintenance that are used to control these items including Glyphosate. STAFF REPORTS Department Highlights Director Pimental presented Department Highlights from recent activities in the Eagan Parks and Recreation Department. VISITORS TO BE HEARD Avery Hildebrand, Conservation Minnesota — Announced a new list serve for Commissioners to receive updates on Environment Commissioner Conference. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Member Moore moved, Member Trzpuc seconded with all members present voting to adjourn the meeting.
