02/12/2019 - Energy and Environment Advisory CommissionEAGAN ESTABLISHED 1660 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION Tuesday, February 12, 2019 MINUTES OF MEETING OF FEBRUARY 12, 2019 A regular meeting of the Eagan Energy and Environment Advisory Commission (EEAC) was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Eagan City Hall. Those present were Member Fleenor, Member Dugan, Member Trzpuc, Member Supina, Member Ziese and Member Miller. Members absent were Member Mirick and Member Oxley. Staff members present were Director of Parks and Recreation Andrew Pimental and Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Jared Flewellen. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Fleenor asked if there were any changes to the agenda. Director Pimental stated that Staff Reports would be added as item five. Member Supina moved, Member Dugan seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the agenda with changes. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES Member Trzpuc moved to approve the minutes from January 8, 2019 meeting, Member Dugan seconded, with all present members voting in favor to adopt the minutes presented. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 There were no visitors to be heard. VISITORS TO BE HEARD PRESENTATIONS Recycling Tips Dakota Valley Recycling Coordinator, Jackson Becker presented information on what can and cant be recycled typically. The presentation touched on how residents can do a more efficient job of what they put in the trash can versus what they can put in the recycle bin. Energy and Environment Advisory Commission February 12, 2019 Page 2 NEW BUSINESS Goal Reports Each chair provided updates on the latest meetings they had regarding their specific goals. Goals will continued to be worked on throughout the commission meetings with further updates to be made at upcoming meetings. • Member Miller discussed the City Fleet Electric Vehicle Report Member Supina discussed goals to reduce waste and city events and government buildings. Member Trzpuc discussed educational booths at city events and complimented members who are making impacts in local environmental studies Member Ziese discussed the city action plan and mentioned there is a upcoming meeting with the City of Rosemount staff to discuss their report. DEPARTMENT UPDATES Director Pimental presented Department Highlights from recent activities in the Eagan Parks and Recreation Department. ADJOURNMENT After further brief discussion, Member Trzpuc moved, Member Miller seconded with all members present voting in favor to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 p.m. Secretary Not Approved Date
